Redoing The Kitchen Cabinet Hardware
Kitchen cabinet hardware – Give your kitchen cabinets a new look without breaking the bank by updating the front of the cabinets. While the cabinets, even should be a focus of this update, so should the hinges. The hinges are an integral part of the cabinets and very visible, so redoing them will add to the look of your cabinets. Remove hinges on your cabinets and then update them with a fresh coat of paint. Remove the hinges from the cabinets with a screwdriver.
Clean the hinges to prepare a fresh coat of paint. Soak hinges in hot, soapy water and then dry them with a clean cloth to remove dirt and grim. If the hinges are rusty, you must use a rust remover solution and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use. Purchase spray paint that is made for metal. Choose a color that coordinates with your cabinets to create a consistent appearance; black paint with black lacquered cabinets, for example. Alternatively, select a color that pops out against the color of kitchen cabinet hardware, such as gold with light wood cabinets or silver with darker cabinets.
